Hockey has a variety of different offenses, penalties, that can be committed by Players, Coaches, or even Fans-In-The-Stands.

These infractions can play a major role in the way games are played as penalties result in a team having to play short-handed giving the other team a significant advantage in manpower on the ice and, usually, an excellent opportunity to score goals.
